Small steps are practical and instructive and move us in the direction we need, and move us in the direction we need, and want to go in. They are innocent. These steps are tremendously powerful and symbolic – new self-ideas come into play. We become strong enough to take the leap when afforded the opportunity.

The inherent evolutional instinct has been stunted by the powerful 4^th World drive to maintain an image. It’s time to free ourselves of this compulsive patterns.

As long as we have a clear vision and live by our integrity, I believe we constantly are essential and protected.

Through positive relationships, aligning with the environment so our needs are met, we advance beyond traumatic memories and learn how to move beyond them. We do not run away from challenges; we tap the collective resolution. We discover our ability to co-create, and to be inspired.

Maria Yracébûrû

Even in the midst of our shock and disappointment, though, there was this distance sound of the coyote, laughing… And a little feeling among us…

Perhaps Spirit was setting us up for something better.

It’s not always easy to keep the faith in those moments.

But WOW, did we get a quick turnaround.

Even as Green Acres was falling apart, our wonderful realtor Natalie told us about another property she had been helping the owners prepare for sale for almost a year. She was just about to put it on the market—and she thought it might be right for us.

She listed it Saturday night.

We saw it Sunday morning.

And immediately, we knew.

This property has virtually everything we were looking for—and in so many ways, it is better suited for the sanctuary than Green Acres was.

It sits on 6½ gorgeous acres near Nevada City, California, about 500 feet higher in elevation than Green Acres. That means cooler summer days and more snow in the winter—and the house is prepared for mountain living, with a whole-house generator, wood stove, and the systems needed to be comfortable and secure year-round.

And the LOCATION!

Instead of being close to Interstate 80, with the distant sound of highway traffic, this property is tucked into a beautiful neighborhood near Cascade Shores, just outside the wonderful town of Nevada City—with its sweet shops and restaurants and an incredibly supportive community.

There are neighbors nearby, but you would never know it from the land.

You cannot see them.
You cannot hear them.

When you stand on this property, it is completely silent except for the sound of the wind moving through the tall trees.

Tingles in the heart let you know this land issacred.

There is plenty of level land for the horses and the Medicine Wheel, along with gently sloping forest for camping, wandering and exploring. And because the property sits on the side of a hill, there are stunning views out across the valley.

There is even a sweet lake just a short walk down the road.

And then there is the SPACE.

The house has nearly twice the indoor space we would have had at Green Acres—including room for a dedicated Kiva group space with its own bathroom and its own entrance to the outdoors.

And perhaps most exciting of all is a HUGE separate 40’ x 60’ garage building.

Part of it can become barn space for the horses.

Part can become workshop and storage space.

And upstairs is an enormous second story with the potential to create an apartment for a live-in apprentice.

In short, it has everything our community needs—in a better location, on silent, sacred, gorgeous land, surrounded by the ideal community.

So what happened next?

We saw the property Sunday morning.

We made an offer that afternoon.

And by Sunday night…

WE WERE IN ESCROW.

Less than 36 hours after Green Acres fell apart.

And there is another beautiful piece to this story.

Because Natalie has been working with this elder lady owner for almost a year to get the property ready to sell, we already know much more about this property than we normally would at this stage. Major work has already been done. The septic has been addressed. Siding has been repaired. Additional bathrooms are permitted. Both buildings are getting a new roof. This place has been lovingly maintained and improved.

We already have the disclosures and permits in hand, and our funding team is working on an expedited escrow.

If everything continues to fall into place, we could close in just 14-21 days.

Of course, after what just happened, we know better than to declare that anything is certain until the keys are actually in our hands!

But we are hopeful.

Actually, we are jaw droppingly amazed.

Because in those painful hours on Saturday, we were doing our best to trust that perhaps losing Green Acres wasn’t something going wrong.

Perhaps we were being redirected.

And then, almost before we’d had time to absorb the disappointment, we were serendipitously dropped into what feels like an extraordinarily benevolent outcome.

Maybe Coyote knew exactly what Coyote was doing.

So please keep holding this vision with us.

Keep praying. Keep sending love. Keep imagining Maria and Linda home. Imagine the horses settling onto this beautiful land. Imagine people gathering around the Medicine Wheel. Imagine teachings in the Kiva, community living and learning on the land, and a sanctuary taking root among the tall trees.

We aren’t all the way there yet.

But, Friends…

we are on our way to the mountain top.

As many of you know, we had found a beautiful property on Green Acres Road in Colfax and were in escrow. We truly believed this might be the land.

But today, we unexpectedly fell out of escrow.

Some of you will naturally want to know what happened, and because we’re committed to being transparent throughout this journey, here’s the story.

During the purchase process, the property appraised at $480,000—far below the agreed purchase price of $639,000. The appraisal was affected by some unusual county records that classified the home as a one-bedroom duplex, which dramatically changed the comparable sales used to determine its value. Unfortunately, that appraisal made it impossible for our lender to finance the purchase as planned.

We all worked hard to find a solution and truly believed we would meet somewhere in the middle. In the end, however, we simply couldn’t reach an agreement, and today escrow came to an end.

Of course, there is disappointment. We had already begun imagining Maria and Linda there, the horses settling in, and this next chapter of the work taking root. We’d even started planning all the details of the move!

But we also know something deeper.

Green Acres was not the destination. It was a doorway.

It showed us what is possible. It clarified exactly what this sanctuary needs. And perhaps most importantly, it brought this community together around a shared vision.

Our initial shock and disappointment quickly gave way to openness, curiosity, and renewed trust in what Spirit has in store. Our prayer has always been for the Most Benevolent Outcome, and we’re already seeing signs that prayer is being answered.

Almost immediately, new possibilities began appearing.

In fact, another property has already emerged that may be an even better fit—more private, more land, no road or neighbor noise, beautiful space for the work and the horses, and possibilities we hadn’t even imagined before. We’re exploring it now with open hearts, careful eyes, and great anticipation.

So please don’t lose hope. Keep dreaming with us. Keep praying with us. Keep holding the vision.

Our transmigrational evolution has one condition: we are to experience – and in my personal opinion – it’s time to enjoy life, and we are capable of rewriting our life scripting.

I want to dwell for a moment on the concept of the Rainbow Warrior, for this identity is our first step into ownership of our stories, in order to heal and return vitality takes commitment.

I don’t remember who first addressed this concept with me, but I worked with it for a long time. From watching myself step out of the abused wife and victimized Native American, to working with others who carried similar patterns, my sense has been that fearful control is our greatest sabbator – and it’s time to let it go – the sad story can be over and our focus can shift to fulfilling dreams.

“I don’t understand,” a woman cried, “why am I so scared and don’t want to be human.” Seeing herself as not “from Earth,” and finding support in life, kept her from recognizing her humanity. This is what we learn as inner child work.

It is in this connection that the Star Path invariably unites us and I am asked: “How can we be both.” While it may be hard to conceive, we are mixed bloods, mixed concepts, that melt to make us who we are.

It is important to understand that we are all we need to be – from both – both are integral in our perspective philosophy, and our next step is taken from this understanding. We penetrate illusion, when we hear our own voice – when we aware to the truth of our value – we no longer separate, we heal. We accept our divinity and find safety.

I remember Maria talking… about an animal… a deer to be specific. We found one playing down by the falls near her family’s ranch. “Ukehi nohwiza’ye” Maria repeats over and over. Thank you Ancestors. It’s a ubiquitous Apache saying, that teaches the importance recognizing the lineage of Earth and family. 14. Tarantula… heightened psychic feeling… il’jooní… Love is an inclusive spirit. What a gift we’ve been given to share… enough love to give, to have, to feel, to create.

15. Strawberry… aging… shiwóyé’di’ ni’gosdzán biyideel… Grandmothers from the Spirit World, we were born to be! We were born to be all that we were meant to be. Be the mountains, be the stars that stimulate our dreams, but the truth of our lineage. As long as we live within integrity and abide by Sacred Laws, we are all that we are expected to be.

16. Ground Ivy… beginning… ch’iná da bisid… they awaken! When we look back on Earth from our complicated moment in evolution, we will know totality. In a way that only connection can, we are reminded to live our nature, explore momentary limitations. Until then, esonkñhsendehí… Changing Mother Earth, is the purpose to our being. Yet our wisdom is incomplete. Those magnificent, quiet dreams of possibility carry the most profound clues, and we begin to see… the invisible slowly become the knowing.

17. Apatite… enhances coming together… dahitáá da’ishaazhi’ … Grandmother Moon even until dawn, security, honor, nourishment, guidance and love return. Silent communication and respect encourage us to life force-filled, self-affirming lives.

18. Sundew… intuition… gos’aaní nyidi’aach… The laws are lifted! Sometimes we find life dancing or listening, playing. We dream true love. Real happiness is meaning in life.

19. XXX… quickening… náshdnltilní diyi naiyeel… We receive the dream of spirit… love. Be a person committed deeply to propagating love. Do your best to be faithful in an active life to be able to fathom the benefits of this.

20. Cockroach… survival… bi’okaahí le’ichoo nayidi’aah… The prayer that releases the law over vision shows there is no limits of helping hands, as we see them coming to be included. We are guided along the Path of Beauty. We are seen.

21. Elk… stamina… There are story teachings, and as channels, we open wide, and Ancestors rush in. We learn things we have not known before.

22. Anemone… flexibility… itah áilé ch’ináyihi’díh ída’ii ni’gosdzán… Involved by freedom during Earth life, above the horizon, Grandfather Sun rises as the symbolic beauty that we have become.

23. Lynx… secrets… ha’asháhg il’jooní… We have entered Initiation. We do not dwell on negative thoughts that may shadow the effectiveness of our actions. We accept the reality of our higher selves showing us the prismatic and reflective healing perpetuated by Earth.

24. Oyster… growth potential…aalálzaa anánt’l’ nohwíní… Completely focus the mind, enthusiastic teachings recover our Earth nobility. Transmitted, shared gifts passed on by word of mouth.

Maria Yracébûrû

is a Native American Spiritualist, author, energy tracker, teacher, ceremonialist and PrayerMaker for the Sedona Journal of Emergence. IS DEATH FINAL?

Nope. It’s not even the blink of an eye between here and there in time. Actually you experience little personality transitions many times through one life span experience. A lot of people call that a Shamanic Death, but we’ll talk about that at another time.

For the most part death is a falling to sleep and waking up. When I first inquired about the subject, my grandpa taught me about how believing that each day was our last, was the venue for truly understanding how sacred life is. It teaches us to look out upon life and appreciate it for what it is, while it is.

And so it was that we would begin and end each day with a prayer of gratitude.

Morning Prayer

Looking toward the Sun and offering a pinch of tobacco, we would breathe in several times to calm the energies and simply say: Grandfather, we greet you. Thank you for another good day in my life. Shine happiness on life. I hear the birdsongs in celebration of this moment. Thank you Grandfather, thank yiou.

Evening Prayer

Lighting a tea candle next to the bed – once the firelight of our canyon home – as we lay our head to our pillow we say: Thank you Grandmother Moon for another wondrous day of life. Carry my love to all as enter the Slumber of the Re-birthing Dream.

That simple. Now adays I do cyclic prayers for the Sedona Journal, and our own EarthWisdom World Prayer Web group here on facebook twice a month. A little more involved affirmations geared to specifics of the thematic energies. But what ever you do - do it. When you do, the ancestors sweep your path clean and life is a joy to behold.

We see life as a joyful experience, a calling we could not resist. Life is a way to be part of the evolutional flow, a resolution to paradoxes and a continuance in our development. Life is a creative, graceful, in-the-moment experience. This is an Earth-perspective, which harmonizes patterns and actions in a procession of growth, maintaining an exquisite intentional connection with everything, and we see ourselves as relevant in life.

As a child, was your curiosity received as a trespass into an adult’s uncomfortable unwillingness to respond? Do you feel you know too much, afraid now to explore? Are you inclined to look at owning your power and confidence, as incompatible with acceptance from your peers?

Many people I meet feel worthless because they feel unfulfilled. A common theme is the sensation of constriction and not being able to breath because they have not seen their dream actualized.

I was raised to live by Earth. And I have found that nature and seasons and my own intuition are great assistants when challenges confront me. My life, as I see it, is to give something of myself to others, and do it in a way that helps me too. When I am at my best I am loving: I choose to do something because I can.

The point I want to touch on is appraising self. Define what success looks like to you, and be honest.

As we move ahead slowly with that tidbit of information, don’t rush in defining who you are. First, that dream is going to evolve, just as you continue to do so. Hold gentle conversations with yourself about how you lived that dream today as a reality, not a hidden desire. Venture to take your imagination out into the world, sense the potential of growing beyond that child whose growth was stunted. Exploration is acting in ways we envision. We heal ourselves by living our dreams and allowing them to grow as we grow.

Plan an unusual weekend: where you live your dreams self.

Get out of the box and pursue yourself. Give up the “should of, could of, would haves,” for one day. Of course, be safe, and don’t do anything illegal, but stop negating yourself. Run and play. This is Earth-grounding fulfillment.
